Sandwiches are definitely some of my favorite foods. I LOVE them! All kinds!
**Warning for Shane... this post contains bacon!
I don't make BLTs often. I'm not sure why. Maybe I think it's a pain to fry up the bacon. I'm not sure. But every time I make them, I wonder why I don't make them more often.
You'll need:
Bread - I used white bread, you can use whatever you like.
Bacon
Lettuce
Tomato
Mayo
Salt & Pepper
Simple... why don't I do this more often??
Fry up some bacon
I make a lot of bacon. There are bacon thieves in my house and the bacon mysteriously disappears as I cook it. So I make extra.
Mmmm....
Doesn't that look good?
Toast the bread
Spread some mayo on both slices.
This is the only mayo that I use.
I switched to light and no one noticed.
Don't go Fat Free... it's revolting.
But light tastes just the same as full fat.
Now time to fill the sandwich.
Lettuce.
Bacon (don't be shy with the bacon!)
Tomatoes
(aren't they beautiful???)
Add some salt & pepper and it's lunch time!
one of my favorite sandwiches esp with garden tomatoes.. btw you won my giveaway, need your naz..
ReplyDeleteI love BLT's and don't make them often enough either. They are especially good in the summer with beefsteak tomatoes!
ReplyDeleteBLT's are one my absolute favorite things to eat!! Love putting some avocado slices on, too (BLAT's..lol)! Looks great!
ReplyDeleteNothing beats a blt on toasted white. what is it about the white bread? wheat just isn't the same at all. Btw, I was sooo thinking of blt's last night while I was cooking the bacon for my salad bar.
ReplyDeletep.s. the limoncello at the store is calling your name!
There is nothing like a good old fashioned BLT - I am having such a craving now.
ReplyDeleteps - thanks for the link to the blog fairy - she gave me a makeover and I am pleased as punch!
OH my god those look good, you know how to make my perfect BLT, I add cheese to mine tho, cuz I am a weirdo!
ReplyDeleteNice. Love the vast expanse of bacon shot. :) I'm not a huge tomatoes-in-sandwiches fan, so I just make bl's myself. My girlfriend puts pickles in them, so I guess that's a blp...
ReplyDeleteI'm totally with you on fat free mayo, too. That stuff isn't food, it's phlegm.
That is a great sammy! If I was at your house I definitely would be one of the bacon thieves! Those tomatoes looks so beautiful and red! That just means that summer is right around the corner!
ReplyDeleteI smelled bacon all the way in San Diego!!!... That fried Bacon shot looks AWESOME!!!!!!
ReplyDeleteAnd Yeah, Fat Free Mayo is joke.... Mayo, by definition is an oil/fat emulsion, if it's Fat/oil free, what is the emulsion made of? (I don't want to know) It needs a different name (to borrow from Bob's comment) like Phlegmaise or something... LOL
Oh that bacon...wow....but FF Mayo will never touch my lips!
ReplyDeleteNothing beats a great BLT! Now you've got me craving one . . . !
ReplyDeleteFirst off, nothing beats bacon. One thought for you, if you don't care for making bacon (frying it up, that is) you know you can also do it in the oven. It's easy to overcook tho...
ReplyDeleteJust a thought!
confession-I like just the bacon, bread and mayo. Why can't it be okay to weigh 800 pounds and have heart disease?
ReplyDeleteI think bacon thieves must be pretty rampant, as we've got a bunch too. I love BLT's, but don't make them often enough. I bet my kids will love them.
ReplyDeleteSo simple and yet so so good!
ReplyDeleteA true classic! Gorgeous.
ReplyDeleteI love BLTs... and if you haven't tried it with ranch dressing in place of mayo, you should! :)
ReplyDeleteGood point - I can't imagine why I don't make this at home either. So good, so easy.
ReplyDeleteAh.. I know what I'm having for lunch tomorrow! :) Looks yummy!
ReplyDeleteI love BLT's and your's look amazing!
